I was browsing on Sephora’s website the other day and since so many things caught my eye I thought I’d share a few of them with you.
I’ve never tried any of the Sephora brand lip products, but this nude shade is just SO pretty I couldn’t resist falling in love with it.
I bought the Two Faced Peach Sweet Peach Palette the other day (swatches coming soon!) and I wanted to get this too, but it was sold out by the time I got online. The blush and bronzer shades in this palette look absolutely beautiful.
Sometimes when I look at sampler kits not everything really grabs my attention, but not with this one! All 7 items in this kit I would really like to try…especially the Bobbi Brown Retouching Face Pencil in Illuminate!
This shade of pale pink is a color I’ve been looking for. I haven’t tried anything from Bite Beauty before, but the reviews seem pretty good so I’ll have to see what else they have to offer and they have a ton of shades too.
I have (and really like) a few makeup products from It Cosmetics, but I haven’t tried any of their skin care items yet. This eye cream helps with puffiness, brightening and fine lines…um YES please!!
Ok, so there are a few items that caught my attention at Sephora. What have you bought or wished for recently at Sephora?
I have grown to really like using lip crayons. I like how versatile the coverage can be and they are easy to apply in a rush. As I’ve mentioned in the past I have a Julep Maven subscription and in a box I received a few months ago it came with a lip balm called It’s Balm lip crayon. The website describes it as
a full-coverage lip crayon with a moisturizing treatment core in the middle. It is antioxidant-rich oils, sunflower wax, and vitamin E keep lips hydrated and happy
At this time they offer 4 color choices ranging from nude to a raspberry pink. I picked a shade called dusty orchid shimmer which show up on my lips as a light mauve with shimmer.
This lip crayon feels very moisturizing on my lips and doesn’t feel sticky at all. This lip crayon makes my lips feel really hydrated; not glossy, just soft and while it’s not a long wearing lipstick it does seem to wear really well. When I reapply it doesn’t feel cakey or dry my lips out either.
I was a little skeptical about trying a lip product from Julep since the main reason I started getting their subscription box was for nail polish, but I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised and I’m excited to see what other beauty product might be in my next box! Have a great day!
I went to Walgreens the other night to pick up note cards for my daughter and this somehow landed in my basket!
I liked two of the three colors and my daughter though the heart mirror was cute so it was a win, win situation! I gave the darkest brown toned shade to a friend, but here are the other two colors from the set.
This is shade 260 Passionate in the Matte Balm.
And the other one I kept is this one…
This is shade 205 Elusive in the Colorburst Matte Balm.
I’ve been looking at all of the beautiful holiday sets from Tarte Cosmetics and ordered a few items. The first to arrive was this…
This is Tarte’s “Dressed To The Nines” Lipsurgence Lip Crème gift set that includes 9 deluxe sized LipSurgence lip crèmes.
I liked how the packaging is great for gift giving. Each box contains 3 LipSurgence shades and the back of the box has “To” and “From” imprinted on the box which is great for gift giving! I was drawn to the shade “Stunning” which is a pinky nude…
Fast forward a few hours….my lips are so dry! I haven’t had my lips feel this dry in forever. I loaded up on my favorite lip balm (Aquaphor lip repair) and went to bed.
The next day I tried another Lipsurgence shade from the Tarte set and I had the same thing happen…horribly dry lips! I didn’t even get to take a picture (oops sorry), but I’ve come to the conclusion that something in this set dries my lips out BAD! I was so bummed about that since I was so excited to try these, but I can’t even think about putting another one of these on my lips…ouch! I don’t know if this is a different formula than their full size shades because I have a few of them and didn’t have this problem? So, with that being said I (sadly) can’t recommend this set for the holidays. If you do have this set I hope you are having better results than me!
Have a good day.
Look what came in the mail today… As soon as I got an email from Tarte Cosmetics that this had come out I had to order it immediately! The last thing I need is another eye shadow palette, but I couldn’t resist!
This palette comes with 12 never before shades; 9 mattes and 3 lusters! All of the shades in this palette look very wearable and offer a good variety for a ton of different eye looks! Here is a closer look at the shades…
I can’t wait to see these shades on! If this palette is anything like Tarte’s previous palette (Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte) it will be a winner!
Enjoy your weekend.
Good afternoon! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I wanted to share one of my favorite beauty related products with you. I know I don’t usually post on Saturday’s, but when I was putting on my makeup earlier today I realized I hadn’t blogged about my #1, holy grail mascara that I can’t be without!
Bobbi Brown’s Smokey Eye Mascara is great! It both lengths and thickens my lashes and it stays on all day and doesn’t smudge under my eyes. Also, this does not come off in tubes like some mascara do (for some reason I do not like tube mascara so this is a bonus in my opinion). My biggest complaint is that my cleansing oil I use to remove my makeup doesn’t remove it and I have to use a specific eye makeup remover to take it off! The only other complaint I have is the cost… it is $29.00! The price is a little high, but the look it gives my lashes makes it worth it! Have you tried this mascara before? Let me know your thoughts. Have a great weekend.
Here are a few of the things I’ve been loving lately…
This candle smells SO good. If you like the smell of apple you MUST try this candle!! It has notes of apple, pear blossom & oak and it is wonderful.
I have been using this a lot over the summer. It is a light, fresh, yummy vanilla scent that has a slight waffle cone note too. It smells heavenly, but not too sweet.
This lip gloss is the perfect combination of gloss and color. It’s from Tarte’s “skintuitive” line (their formula that responds to lips’ natural energy by using pH to deliver an exclusive berry shade that’s all your own). It isn’t long wearing, but I like the high shine and the applicator is really easy to use
This picture doesn’t do it any justice…it’s kind of hourglass shaped and shapes to the lips perfectly!
So there you have it, a few of my favorites for the week. I’d love to hear what you’ve been liking this week. Have a great weekend:)
