As you can see I’ve taken a break from my blog, but I’ll be back soon with a new look!
As you can see I’ve taken a break from my blog, but I’ll be back soon with a new look!
I hope you all had a wonderful week. Here are some of my favorites that I’ve been using this week…
I kept hearing people say how great this cup was but I had always loved my Tervis so I never bought one. Fast forward to right before Christmas and not one but two of my Tervis cups cracked so I decided to try the YETI Rambler. All I can say is wow! This cup keeps my water cold for hours. I fill it up with ice, add my water and lemon in the morning and the ice is still in the cup at dinnertime. Yes, I have to refill the cup with water, but not ice! This is been very helpful with my quest to drink more water.
I use Philosophy Purity to wash my face, but sometimes not all of my mascara comes off so I started using Clinique Take The Day Off and it takes it off! (No pun intended 😉) It is gentle on my eyes and after I rinse with water there is no oily residue. It gets the job done quick!
I bought this candle around the holidays and it has been a nice change from the holiday scents that I’ve been burning for what seems like a long time! I love those scents, but this is a lighter, fruiter scent that combines peach and vanilla together. I liked it so much that I went to get another one and they were sold out!! The sales person suggested Georgia Peach, which is similar to Golden Peach Sparkle. Georgia Peach is a combination of the peach and vanilla that I really like with a hint of a floral undertone too. I haven’t burned it yet, but all of the online reviews are good so I’m hopeful that is smells similar when I burn it!
I hope you all have a great weekend. Super Bowl is on Sunday and if you need some ideas check out my Pinterest page for some yummy treats!
Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that the food and commercials are my favorite things about Super Bowl (don’t tell my hubby!) in that order! Every year we have some family over and I was wanting to try some new recipes…Pinterest to the rescue! Here are some recipes that caught my attention!
Easy Football cake via Spaceships and Laser Beams This cake in the shape of a football, looks fairly easy to make and I think my kids would LOVE it!
Buffalo Chicken Meatballs via BuzzFeed I have a special love for anything with buffalo sauce and I have made variations of these in the past that were yummy so I’m excited to try these.
French Bread Pizza via Yellow Bliss Road These sound perfect for kids and adults and pretty easy to assemble! This will be a hit in my house!
Cookies and Cream Football Shaped Dip via Get Creative Juice This dip looks really good and cookies and cream is a favorite in my house. I’m going to serve this dip with a combination of vanilla wafers, pretzels and strawberries.
I also wanted to share with you something else that is fun to do while watching Super Bowl. Last year I found a printable Super Bowl themed bingo sheet online that I was able to print out and it was a hit with both the adults and the kids at my house. I found a few different one’s that I’m going to use this year.
Super Bowl Bingo via BuzzFeed This looks fun, I’ll have to be sure to pay attention to the game!
Super Bowl Commercial Bingo via create craft love This deals with commercials only and will be good for those who are more interested in commercial than the actually game (aka Me!).
There you have it, a few ideas to help make your Super Bowl a little easier and fun. I’m always looking for new recipes so if you have any appetizers you like to serve on Super Bowl please feel free to share them!
I have grown to really like using lip crayons. I like how versatile the coverage can be and they are easy to apply in a rush. As I’ve mentioned in the past I have a Julep Maven subscription and in a box I received a few months ago it came with a lip balm called It’s Balm lip crayon. The website describes it as
a full-coverage lip crayon with a moisturizing treatment core in the middle. It is antioxidant-rich oils, sunflower wax, and vitamin E keep lips hydrated and happy
At this time they offer 4 color choices ranging from nude to a raspberry pink. I picked a shade called dusty orchid shimmer which show up on my lips as a light mauve with shimmer.
This lip crayon feels very moisturizing on my lips and doesn’t feel sticky at all. This lip crayon makes my lips feel really hydrated; not glossy, just soft and while it’s not a long wearing lipstick it does seem to wear really well. When I reapply it doesn’t feel cakey or dry my lips out either.
I was a little skeptical about trying a lip product from Julep since the main reason I started getting their subscription box was for nail polish, but I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised and I’m excited to see what other beauty product might be in my next box! If your interested in joining Julep Maven you can use my referral link if you would like http://refer.julep.com/v2/share/6247159214828950032
Have a great day!
Here in the Midwest the weather has been really odd. Up until a few weeks ago the weather wasn’t to bitterly cold here and I was able to still get my workouts in outside, but now that the colder temperatures have set in (and a little snow too) I’ve been going to the gym more. I wanted to pick up a few new workout things so I thought I’d share with you a few of my picks that are both fashionable AND functional. Let’s take a look at a few things I found…
Let me start out by saying that these are so freaking adorable!! Nike is my favorite brand of athletic shoes to wear. I love all of the different styles and colors they have and they fit my foot like a glove too!
I really like the way Zella leggings fit my body and these long leggings are a good option for colder weather. I like the way these feel on me…the material isn’t super thin and they have a hidden waistband pocket for a key which is a great bonus (and fits my locker key perfectly!).
I love any shirt with these adorable thumb holes so I knew I had to have this as soon as I saw it! I like the seaming detail too. This top is fitted so if you prefer I looser fit I’d size up on this one.
I have many pairs of Zella capri’s, but they are all solid colors. I think these would be a nice, fun change. They have quite a few patterns to choose from, but I liked these.
I have tried many headbands, but the wider ones work best on my hair. These aren’t to tight and stay put on my head, thanks to the silicone grippers on the underside of the headband.
And finally I have to share with you something I already have had for awhile, but I think this is a really great addition to help those who need motivation AND those who exercise reguarally…
I’m so happy to have a Fitbit. It has been such a huge motivator for me and has helped me be more active. I got a different style for my hubby for Christmas ( Charge HR series) and he feels the same way too. It’s fun to have some (friendly) competition with him too:)
Happy Friday! Here are a few things I’ve been loving this week…
I got Black Opium perfume by Yves Saint Laurent for Christmas. (Thanks hubby!) There are notes of coffee, vanilla, cedar wood and orange blossom (just to name a few). It is a lovely slightly sweet, sultry, sexy scent that smells wonderful!
Lorac “I’m So Sensitive” face primer is the first primer I have used that hasn’t clogged my pores or make me oily. It applies with a lotion-type texture that doesn’t feel heavy on my skin and helps minimize my pores.
Bath & Body Works “Celebrate” candle is their “Merry Cookie” scent with a holiday label, but smells straight up like I’m baking cookies! On multiple occasions my hubby came home & asked what I was baking 😉. If you like vanilla, butter & sugar cookie scents this candle was made for you!
like love lemon…a lot! I started using these True Lemon packs a few years ago and can’t believe I’ve never mentioned them before. These little packets are in my purse at all times and I use them instead of asking for a lemon wedge in my water when I’m eating out. They come in little packets (just like sugar packets) and each package is equal to 1 lemon wedge. You can also use them in recipes that call for fresh lemon!
Okay, so those are a few things I’ve been loving this week. I hope you all have a great weekend. I’d love to know about something you’ve been loving this week.
2016 is off and running and I’m looking forward to a great year! Today my girls headed back to school after enjoying 2 weeks off for Christmas break and the house seems really quiet! (This might take a day or two to get use to 🙁). When the girls are home our schedule is gone…sleeping in, late breakfast, even later dinners and I love it! I know these times won’t last forever so I take full advantage of the times we all hang out together! Now that we are back to our “normal” schedule I’m trying to get back to eating better (those darn Christmas cookies get me every December ) and my morning walks are starting back up too! I also bought the cutest water container (target.com) that will remind me to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
1. Healthier eating
2. Morning walk
3. Drink more water
I hope your year is off to a good start! What are your goals for the month, I’d love to hear about them.
