My Monday Mani

Essie Viva Antigua

Okay let me start by saying that green nail polish isn’t something that I usually wear, but I thought it was a fun color so I went for it! I like that it has a shimmery look to it so it doesn’t seem so harsh, and like every Essie nail polish it applies evenly and easily! So this isn’t a shade I would probably wear on my fingers on a regular basis I thought it was a fun “pop” of color that I’ve never tried so I decide to go for it! (I will say that I think I like it better on my toes vs my fingers.)

On a positive note, my daughters both absolutely LOVED it so I know this shade will not go to waste:)

Have a great day!

Mani Monday!

For the past few months I have been trying very hard to take better care of my nails.  I told myself that when they were in better condition I would reward myself with a monthly subscription to Julep Maven.  (If you aren’t familiar with Julep Maven it is a monthly nail polish subscription which lets you customized the items you receive or you can let them choose colors for you after you take a quiz to give them a better idea of what you like).  I’ve been doing really well at not picking on my cuticles and keeping my nail strong so I placed my order and my first box came a few weeks ago.  I couldn’t wait to open the box and the first thing I noticed was the presentation…I love the presentation…so adorable!

The theme in this box was matte metallic. I’ve never worn a matte finish on my nails so I couldn’t wait to use the reddish rust shade called Cheyenne.

I wasn’t to crazy about the matte finish so I used a top coat (OPI Nail Envy) on top for a shinier finish. I was however really happy with how well this color applied.  I’m excited to try the other items in my box and I’m looking forward to what I get next month!

Let me know if you are a Julep Maven, I’d like to hear what products you like so I can give them a try!  Have a great Monday.

Mani Monday

Happy Monday!  Today I’m wearing OPI Incognito in Sausalito.

In the bottle this looks like a deep navy and is described as an almost-black blue creme. The black undertones in the color make it look like a blackish blue and I don’t think it show up on nails as navy as it does in the bottle. I put 2 coats on and followed it up with OPI Nail Envy as my top coat. I LOVE dark colors, but I find no matter what top coat I use my tips always look chipped shortly after I apply it so I have a feeling I’ll be doing touch-ups in the near future!

Have a great afternoon.

Mani Monday!

I’m really loving the color I have on my nails today!  It’s Deborah Lippmann She Wolf (love the name!).  In the bottle it has a brown tone…

But I think on my nails after I applied 2 coats it seems to have a great neutral, milky taupe tone with a tiny hint of plum to it…

Deborah Lippmann’s website describes this color as a “full coverage taupe” which I think is spot on. I really like the wearability of this shade with everything in my wardrobe; it’s one of those great neutrals that just matches everything!

Have a great Monday!
