Hi and welcome to Daily Beth. I'm a makeup and skin care junkie who loves coffee and life. I enjoy talking about what does (and doesn't) work for me and fun new things I've discovered. I like to cook and bake so from time to time I'll chat about that too! Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy.

My Perfume Collection

So I have been meaning to do this post for quite some time.  Here is the Midwest we have started to have a few days of warmer temps (yes, I know it’s only February!!) and I realized that I don’t have any lighter scents in my collection for Spring.  I was looking online at what new scents have come out and then it dawned on me that I still needed to share my favorties with you so let’s get to it…

Ok, so I realized that I have a lot of fragrances with the same notes! Ok, here’s the breakdown.temporary.jpg
Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent is described as an addictive, floral and energetic scent and I couldn’t agree more! This has notes of coffee accord, orange blossom and cedar wood and in my opinion has a slight black licorice scent too (which I love).

Fresh Cream by Philosophy is a great fresh everyday scent that has hints of vanilla. It is described as a sweet & delightful scent and isn’t too sweet. It reminds me of vanilla ice cream and sugary waffle cones mixed together…yum!

Alien by Mugler is hands down my top favorite scent ever! I remember when I smelled this for the first time…instant love. This is my go to date night scent. It has notes of cashmeran wood, amber gris and is described as a warm floral. I don’t usually tend to like floral scents and in my opinion there is no floral notes to this scent. One word that describes this scent is SEXY! Love it, love it, love it!

Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is a musky (musky in a good way!) scent with notes of jasmine, orchid, ballerina freesia and is described as an oriental scent. I think this is the perfect winter scent. It wears really well on me and isn’t to heavy.

Hypnotic Poison by Dior is my most recent fragrance that I purchased and smells awesome! It has notes of bitter almond, jasmine, vanilla musk, cinnamon and tuberose and is described as a hypnotizing and extravagant fragrance which is so true. The bitter almond brings out the sweetness in this fragrance, but I think the cinnamon helps to make sure it isn’t too sweet.

So these are the fragrances that I have. I didn’t realize until now that most of my fragarances have common scent notes!  Any suggestions for a lightner, spring/summer frangrance?  If so leave it in the comments so I can check it out.

Have a great day.

Friday Favorites!

Hooray, it’s Friday!  This week has been one of those weeks that seemed to drag on, but Friday is finally here:)  The past 2 weeks my house has been filled with fevers, coughs and runny noses and after everyone in my house got some much-needed rest (and I Clorox wiped and Lysol’d till my fingers were numb!!) I’m happy to be back and sharing some things that I’ve been loving.   Ready…here we go…

Ok, now let me tell you why I’m liking all of these things so much.
The first thing I want to tell you about it this cuticle remover from Deborah Lippmann. I have always had cuticles that require some extra TLC and this is perfect for them. You brush it on your cuticles and it softens them up in a snap. Then use your cuticle pusher to push them back…it works like magic!*

This butter body cream came in my FabFitFun box (if you are interested in joining FabFitFun feel free to click on the link above to join) and it smells soooo good. It has notes of tangerine, mandarin, peach, bergamot, mango, black current, musk and vanilla and is sitting on my night stand. It smells great and is very moisturizing. I find it a tad greasy so I have been putting it on at night before I go to bed…perfect for keeping my hands and feet nice and soft here in the Midwest!*

This palette is the perfect combination of 8 shadows and comes with a day/night guide too. The color Rose Gold is my fave and is the perfect blend of rose, bronze, taupe and gold-just beautiful. (While looking for the link for this I discovered it’s sold out everywhere online, but you never know, they could restock it-sorry!)
My dermo recommended Cerave cleanser to me about a year ago (and I love it). I’ve still been on the hunt for a good daytime moisturizer for my skin with SPF. I saw this the other day and had to try it. It recently came out so there were no reviews to read, but I took a chance and I’m glad I did. The box states that it won’t clog pores,is fragrance free, contains encapsulated retinol to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and has an SPF of 30. So far this is a good match for my skin and hasn’t made it look shiny, but once the temps warm up it will be the true test!*

I saw this while I was waiting in the checkout line. I tried it when I got home and I LOVED it! I have already been back to the store to buy more and my daughter’s have been asking for them in their lunches! These fruit bars only contain 2 ingredients…that’s it:) They have no sugar added, are all natural, gluten-free, vegan and have 3g of fiber. I think they are perfect for on the go or an after school snack. I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea! I have tried the apple/cherry, apple/pear and apple/blueberry bars and they all taste yummy.  They have a lot my flavors too, those are just a few that they offer.  (I found these at Whole Foods and Target.)

Well those are some of my favorites from the week. What are you liking?

Have a great weekend.

My old drugstore hair dryer stopped working when I was in the middle of drying my hair (gasp!) and I decided to shop around a bit before replacing it.  (I thought since I spend quite a bit of money every 6 weeks seeing my hair stylist I probably should invest in a better hair dryer then I was currently using!)  Wow…I didn’t realize how expensive hair dyers can be and seriously thought about just running to Target to get a new one instead, but then I came across the brand T3 and I found a hair dryer that caught my attention.  After reading some of the reviews (cause I always do this…do you?) I decided to buy the Featherweight 2 which claims to promotes fast, healthy drying hair and helps to reduce frizz and enhance body.  (It also has 3 heat settings and 2 speed settings and whisper soft operation.)  I’m not going to lie, I didn’t know if I really believed that it could follow through with all of the claims, but the thought of a hair dryer possibly being able to do that was enough for me to order it (even with the $200.00 price tag)!

My hair dryer came in the mail the other day and I purposely waited to take a shower the day it was being delivered so I could use it!  As soon as I took it out of the box the first thing I realized is that it was really lightweight!  After I showered I used my usual heat activated styling cream and dried my hair.  I was AMAZED at how much faster my hair felt dried and what stuck out in my mind is that my hair didn’t feel hot from the heat of the hair dryer (I used medium heat).  My hair didn’t look as frizzy as it usually looks and it dried in so much less time.  (No wonder this is one of T3’s bestsellers!)  Well, needless to say I’m now a believer that this hair dyer was well worth the money!  Yes I realize it’s an investment, but since I take the time to get my ends trimmed and my color touched up every 6 weeks and then I  use a special shampoo and conditioner to help keep my hair looking and feeling healthy then I probably should spend the extra money and buy a quality hair dryer too!  I’m glad I went ahead and purchased this hair dryer, my only complaint is now my oldest daughter is always using it and wants one for herself:)

Have you tried this brand before?  They have hair dryers, curling irons, flat irons and evenbrushes too which might be on my list of things to try!  I’d like to hear what you think or if you have something else from them that you really like I’d love to know what it is!

Have a great day!

My Sephora wish list-January Edition

I was browsing on Sephora’s website the other day and since so many things caught my eye I thought I’d share a few of them with you.

I’ve never tried any of the Sephora brand lip products, but this nude shade is just SO pretty I couldn’t resist falling in love with it.

I bought the Two Faced Peach Sweet Peach Palette the other day (swatches coming soon!) and I wanted to get this too, but it was sold out by the time I got online.  The blush and bronzer shades in this palette look absolutely beautiful.

Sometimes when I look at sampler kits not everything really grabs my attention, but not with this one!  All 7 items in this kit I would really like to try…especially the Bobbi Brown Retouching Face Pencil in Illuminate!

This shade of pale pink is a color I’ve been looking for. I haven’t tried anything from Bite Beauty before, but the reviews seem pretty good so I’ll have to see what else they have to offer and they have a ton of shades too.

I have (and really like) a few makeup products from It Cosmetics, but I haven’t tried any of their skin care items yet. This eye cream helps with puffiness, brightening and fine lines…um YES please!!

Ok, so there are a few items that caught my attention at Sephora. What have you bought or wished for recently at Sephora?

My Monday Mani

Essie Viva Antigua

Okay let me start by saying that green nail polish isn’t something that I usually wear, but I thought it was a fun color so I went for it! I like that it has a shimmery look to it so it doesn’t seem so harsh, and like every Essie nail polish it applies evenly and easily! So this isn’t a shade I would probably wear on my fingers on a regular basis I thought it was a fun “pop” of color that I’ve never tried so I decide to go for it! (I will say that I think I like it better on my toes vs my fingers.)

On a positive note, my daughters both absolutely LOVED it so I know this shade will not go to waste:)

Have a great day!

Hello…it’s me!

I apologize for my lack of posts these past few months, well… to be honest no posts at all for a few months.  I started my blog with a few goals that I wanted for myself and when I didn’t reach them I got frustrated and need to reevaluate to see if I should continue my blog at all.  I’m not one who gives up so this was a difficult thing for me to even think about, but I also didn’t want to continue doing something that wasn’t making me happy.  I decided to give myself a break for a few months and see how I felt… and I ended up missing it!  I reminded myself that the reason I started this blog in the first place was because I enjoy sharing my ideas, recipes, thoughts, etc.  Plain and simple that’s what I enjoy doing.  So I’m back!  I’ve decided to add more content to my blog instead of focusing mainly on beauty.  It’s almost the start of a new month so I thought it was the perfect time to hit the “restart” button.  I hope you check back often and enjoy what you see!

Have a great day!
