Cover Girl Outlast Lipstick review

Good Monday morning to all of you…well actually afternoon (oops)!  I kept seeing ads for Cover Girl Outlast Lipstick and I picked one up last week so I thought I’d share my thoughts with you…unfortunately my thoughts are not very positive!

The claims on are:

America’s #1 long-wear lip color!* Our advanced formula, with resilient, brilliant coverage, color, and shine, gives you up to 16 hours of color that stays true, in just 2 easy, breezy steps. Outlast’s long-lasting lip color has a moisturizing topcoat that helps lock in shine– no feathering, no bleeding.

The directions (maybe directions on how to apply the lipstick should have been my first clue LOL!)  on the box read:

Step 1
Apply an even layer of the All-Day Colorcoat, then wait until it dries completely (about a minute or so).

Step 2
Apply the moisturizing top coat for added moisture and shine. Reapply the top coat whenever you like to keep lips soft and moist

The color is a pretty shade of pink and when I applied it (step 1) it felt REALLY dry on my lips.  I waited the 60 seconds it said to and then applied the moisturizing top coat (step 2) .  Unfortunately not only did this color fade shortly after I applied it, it dried my lips out too!  It was not a pretty sight, they looked dry and cracked and no trace of lipstick was there after 30-40 minutes!  I think the idea of this product is a good one, but the quality didn’t work for me, which is a bummer because they have a lot of pretty colors (I’m just glad I only bought one).

Have you tried this lipstick yet?  If so I’d like to know if you had the same problem that I did.  Let me know in the comments below.

Have a great day.
