Maybelline “Brow Drama” Review

jan 2015 023
I saw this at Walgreens a few weeks ago so I decided to give it a try. (It looked like it might be a good dupe for something similar that Benefit Cosmetics sells). I bought it in the shade “Blonde”.  The packaging reads:

Bold & Sculpted?  How’s That For Brow Drama?

New Scultping Ball Brush for Bold & Defined Brows

Colored Gel Tints Brows & Comfortably Holds Hairs in Place

No Clumping or Flaking

Maybelline New York Eye Studio Brow Drama is Maybelline’s first brow mascara that defines arches with the first-ever Sculpting Ball Brush.  A colored gel tints brows and provides an even, natural, comfortable hold.  No clumping.  No flaking.

As I started to apply it I felt like the color matched my brows well, but it didn’t darken the skin behind my brow hairs, just the brow hairs themselves (please tell me this makes as much sense to you as it does me!!!).  It dried quick, but left me brows feeling hard.  I had to go in with a pencil over it to make it look blended.  Overall, this product was not a winner for me.  I felt like it to WAY to long to apply, didn’t blend well enough and made my eyebrows very stiff.  The one thing I did like about it was the brush!  The applicator was very easy to use because it has a “sculpting ball” applicator.  It was the perfect size to use on my brows.

Brow

Unfortunately that was the best part of this product for me.  Have you had any luck with this or did you run into the same problem as me?  Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Have a great day!

  1. Bumping into this review reminds me I haven’t reviewed mine yet haha mine’s in the darker shade. I actually really enjoyed it, but for a more natural look. The ball is the perfect size for my eyebrows and I only need one coat, two if i want a more bold look. I don’t think this product is for people who want those thick precise brows though.

    1. On the commercials they show you swipe it on way to color the skin under your brow and then back the other way to color your brow! Hmmm false advertising evidently!?

      1. I haven’t seen the commercial yet, but that is strange. The directions don’t say anything about going both directions…maybe I’ll try that! Thanks.
