Today I’m bring you the 4th and final post for my “Flawless Face”. Today I’m going to talk to you about Tarte Colored Clay SPF 15 Liquid Foundation.
I purchased this from QVC and I believe that is the only place to get this foundation (at least for now because it’s not on the Tarte website). The brush pictured comes with it on QVC and it is a great brush! According to QVC’s website:
What is it: tarte’s first-ever Colored Clay Liquid Foundation!
Who is it for: Anyone looking for lightweight, full-coverage foundation with added skin care benefits.
Why is it different: The latest innovation in complexion from tarte, this liquid foundation delivers flawless full coverage as it smoothes over the skin with ease. Infused with skinvigorating and complexion-correcting colored clay, the antioxidant-rich formula helps to brighten, neutralizes the appearance of discolorations, and evens skin tone and texture. The lightweight texture blends and builds effortlessly with the perfect-application foundation brush, and the custom mesh delivery system allows for easy, mess-free application every time.
How do I use it: Begin by shaking the foundation, then lay or hold flat and remove the cap. Take the included foundation brush and gently press into the mesh opening to get the perfect amount of foundation onto the brush. Buff onto the skin in outward, even strokes until you achieve your perfect amount of silky coverage.
I will admit when I first tried this I wasn’t totally sold on it. The foundation is very liquidy and you shake the container, open the lid and press the brush on a mesh opening to get the product out. First few times I pushed way to hard on the mesh thing and it didn’t look like I had a lot of foundation on my brush, but I did…way to much. Then I started pushing down gently and then I started to like the way it looked on my skin. This foundation is very lightweight, but it is full coverage too (which is sometimes hard to find). It is not a matte finish, but not a luminous finish either…somewhere in between. I set this with a loose powder and that makes it slightly matte on my skin. It comes in 4 colors (which can be good and bad for those in between shades). I’m not 100% happy with the delivery system of this though; you can’ see how much product you have left and I would not recommend this for travel because it is so liquidy and it has a screw on lid that could possibly leak. I like that this gives me good coverage and buffs on very easily. I can get about 5 hours of wear before I start to look shiny and it helps to brighten my skin too. Have you tried this foundation? Let me know what you think if you have.
Have a great weekend:)
